The Meaning of Christmas!
The meaning of Christmas is to spend time with your family, give gifts and be nice to everyone around you. When you are a kid the main thing about Christmas is receiving gifts. But when you are an adult it is mainly about giving presents to people we care for.
The History of Santa Claus!
A long, long time ago St. Nicholas was born in Patara, Turkey. It started with him being so generous and caring to give poor families a chance in life. St. Nicholas was the bishop of the Roman Catholic Church. He was popular in Europe as a saint until the 1500s. The Dutch still celebrated the day of St. Nicholas on December 6. Children would put their shoes outside of the door and the next morning they would find treats in them. The Dutch introduced St. Nicholas to the Americans in the 1700s. Then the Americans celebrated St.Nicholas as they celebrated Christmas day. After he died, people kept the legend of gift-giving tradition, and the people of the Roman Catholic Church transformed the legend into a character, which we all know as Santa Claus.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!
